Hello – my name is Michael (no surprise there) and I am the creator of Mind Of Michael dot Com. For the most I have taught myself how to do most of my online endeavors however, some of the things I have learnt have been through friends and university. I graduated from Trinity Western University with a degree in Computing Science and now work full time as the Director of Information & Technology (for OMS) located in sunny Barbados. In my spare time I work on projects such as this one. I have been very motivated most of my life to be successful at whatever I put my mind to and this project is no exception. I have seen what others have done with blog sites and I want to see if I can be some what successful with my own blog. I am always doing research and learning new things and am excited to see where this blog takes me. So far this blog has had it’s ups and down’s but I have enjoyed the ride. There are days when I’ve made great income and there are days when I’ve made barely anything at all. However that hasn’t stopped me from continually updating my blog and improving it. I keep on researching and optimizing the blog. I see how some of the big names such as: John Chow, Zac Johnson, and Tyler Cruz make a great living blogging and I figure I can do the same. If they have the ability to make a great blog then I am sure I have that ability too. There is no secret to making a successful blog online. All it takes it a lot of work and dedication and you’ll eventually become very successful. I am sure of it.
Hobbies
My hobbies include such things as: working out, watching sports (hockey – in particular the Vancouver Canucks), going on vacations (who doesn’t?), going out with friends, watching movies, playing video games, spending time with my fiance, working on my online projects, and playing sports (to name a few things). I am sure there is more I can add to that list but I will keep it short for now.
Education
As I mentioned earlier I have a degree in Computing Science from Trinity Western University (in Canada, BC). I went through high school getting decent grades but worked hard at whatever I put my mind to. The rest of my knowledge has been self taught. Learning such things as PHP, HTML, Javascript, Photoshop, and Flash have all been from trial and error. Taking a stab at something and reading online tutorials and books.
About My Blog
My goal for this blog is to make a decent amount of money with it. Also to learn how to optimize and increase the traffic on my blog. Along the way I plan on learning more about WordPress, online marketing, blog monetization, and affiliate marketing to name a few things. I initially started thing blog with the many focus on the top ‘make money online’ but since I started the blog I have branched out to many other areas as well. Now I talk about technology, tech news, blogging, online tools, and sometimes just random posts about anything. There is not a major focus on one aspect or another one this blog. That can either be a good thing or a bad thing but that is just how this blog is run. In my spare time I work on numerous other blogs and websites but this blog is my main focus.
My Financial Goal
My financial goal with this blog is to make enough money that I can make a full time living with this blog. I’ve seen others do it and figure if I give it a lot of energy, dedication, and time I can eventually make a full time living blogging. It is a great lifestyle being a blogger. You can sleep in, work when you want, take breaks when you want, and basically just work on your own schedule. That sounds like a great life to me and I intend to do my best to get to that point.
